Lemon Granita and Cream - Italian Dessert

Ingredients

  • 6 piece Lemon (juiced (about 1 cup juice))
  • 0.75 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 cup Water
  • 1 cup Heavy cream (whipped)
    Alternative: coconut cream

Instructions

  1. Juice the lemons to yield about 1 cup of juice.

  2. In a medium saucepan, combine lemon juice, granulated sugar, and water. Heat over medium until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool.

  3. Pour mixture into a shallow dish and freeze. Every 30 minutes for about 3 hours, scrape mixture with a fork to form fluffy crystals.

  4. In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

  5. To serve, spoon the lemon granita into glasses and top with a dollop of whipped cream.
