Inverted Chocolate Pear Cake - French Dessert

Ingredients

  • 3 piece Pear
  • 50 g Salted butter
  • 80 g Sugar (For caramel)
  • 80 g Butter
  • 150 g dark chocolate
  • 80 g Sugar
  • 3 piece Eggs
  • 100 g Flour
  • 0.5 sachet baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

  2. Prepare caramel: In a saucepan, melt salted butter and 80g sugar until golden brown. Pour into the bottom of a cake pan.

  3. Peel, core, and slice the pears. Arrange the pear slices in a decorative pattern over the caramel.

  4. Melt butter and dark chocolate together.

  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.

  6. Gradually add melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, mixing until combined.

  7. Sift in flour and baking powder. Gently fold into the batter until just combined.

  8. Pour the batter over the pears in the cake pan.

  9. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  10. Let the cake cool slightly before inverting it onto a serving plate. Serve warm or at room temperature.
