Madeleines - French Dessert

Ingredients

  • 125 g Flour
  • 125 g Sugar
  • 0.5 sachet baking powder
  • 2 piece Eggs
  • 125 g Butter
  • 50 g Chocolate (Optional)
  • 125 g Butter (Optional)
    Alternative: Margarine

Instructions

  1. Melt butter and let cool.

  2. Whisk eggs and sugar until pale and frothy.

  3. Add flour and baking powder, mix well.

  4. Gradually add melted butter, mixing until smooth.

  5. If using, add melted chocolate to the batter.

  6. Refrigerate batter for at least 30 minutes.

  7. Preheat oven to 200°C (392°F).

  8. Grease and flour madeleine molds.

  9. Fill molds with batter.

  10. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown.

  11. Let cool slightly before removing from molds.
