Pickled Red Onions - Global Condiment

Ingredients

  • 1 piece red onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice the red onion and place in a clean glass jar.

  2. In a small saucepan, combine vinegar, water, sugar, and salt. Bring to a simmer over medium heat until sugar and salt dissolve.

  3. Pour the hot mixture over the onions in the jar. Press down to submerge the slices.

  4. Let cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes before serving.
