Classic Bubble Milk Tea - Taiwanese beverage

Ingredients

  • 4 cup Water (For tea)
  • 0.25 cup Black tea
  • 0.5 cup Tapioca pearls
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 0.5 cup Milk (Alternative: Plant-based milk)
    Alternative: Oat milk

Instructions

  1. Boil 4 cups of water in a saucepan.

  2. Add black tea and remove from heat. Steep for 5 minutes, then strain into a heatproof bowl and let cool.

  3. While the tea cools, cook tapioca pearls according to package directions. Drain and rinse with cold water.

  4. In a small saucepan, combine 0.5 cup water and sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.

  5. Divide tapioca pearls between two glasses. Add ice, then pour tea and sugar syrup over the ice.

  6. Top with milk and serve immediately.
