Halloween Biscuits - British Dessert

Ingredients

  • 125 g Unsalted butter
  • 125 g Golden caster sugar
  • 1 piece Eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 250 g Plain flour
  • 50 g Popping candy

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Line 2 baking sheets with baking parchment.

  2. Beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

  3. Gradually mix in the flour until you have a smooth dough. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of 5mm.

  4. Using a ghost-shaped cutter, cut out 16 ghosts. Using a smaller cutter, cut a hole in the centre of 8 of the ghosts.

  5. Bake for 8-12 mins, or until golden brown. Leave to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  6. Once the biscuits are cold, arrange the biscuits with holes on top of the whole biscuits. Fill with popping candy. Sandwich together with a little icing.

  7. Enjoy!
