Ingredients
- 90 g Egg whites (approximately)
- 180 g Granulated sugar
- 6 piece Sweet almond extract (drops)
- 0.5 to_taste Red food coloring
- 0.5 to_taste Marzipan
- 80 g dark chocolate
- 0.5 to_taste Jam
- 0.5 to_taste Powdered sugar
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 90°C (194°F). Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gradually add half of the granulated sugar, continuing to beat. Incorporate the remaining sugar and beat until the mixture is glossy and holds its shape.
-
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Fill a pastry bag fitted with a medium star tip with the meringue mixture. Pipe pine tree shapes onto the prepared baking sheet.
-
Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Turn off the oven and let the meringues cool completely inside.
-
Chop the dark chocolate and melt over low heat. Color the marzipan with red food coloring. Roll out the colored marzipan and cut out small star shapes.
-
Dip the base of each meringue tree into the melted chocolate and attach to a serving plate. If the marzipan color is not intense enough, paint with more red food coloring.
-
Spread a small amount of jam on the back of each marzipan star and attach to the top of the meringue tree. Dust the Christmas tree meringues with powdered sugar before serving.
