Sfeng (Doughnuts) - Moroccan Dessert

Ingredients

  • 500 g All-purpose flour
  • 1 sachet Baker's yeast
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 300 ml Water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt.

  2. Gradually add water, mixing until a smooth dough forms.

  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.

  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).

  5. Shape the dough into small doughnuts.

  6. Carefully place the doughnuts in the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  7. Remove the doughnuts from the oil and drain on paper towels.

  8. Serve warm, drizzled with cane sugar syrup.
